Why am I being asked to confirm Two Factor Authenticatio on my home computer?

Whenever I go into iCloud or want to post messages in the Apple communities while on my home MAC mini, I am prompted by Two Factor Authentication and have to input a number generated. This is my main computer located always at my home? I can understand being checked when I have my iPad somewhere off premises, but see no reason my at-home computer should be receiving this message all the time.

Can someone please suggest what I might try to avoid this? I must have something ticked off that is causing this issue.

Yes, that behavior is commonplace. It seems to serve no purpose since it is pushing the number to the same computer it is asking you to verify. Many folks have the same question and I can't answer it.

When you do enter the code there should be a box to say you trust that computer. That should stop it until your computer (or OS X or Safari version) changes.

I’m inclined to agree with you - it seems to be happening all the time. I am thinking about turning off two-factor and just turning it on when I’m travelling, would this work o.k.?

While it does add a layer of protection, it is a PITA. It's up to you.
