how do I delete mail without being able to open mail

I need to delete errors that have shown up on my mail . I think that if i delete mail I will accomplish this - can

still get the msgs on my IPAD so the problem is with the mac.

MacBook Pro, iOS 10.3.3

Deleted Mail I deleted as distinct from uninstalling Mail. So system knows it was installed and so will not reinstall it. How can I get Mail running again? ( I can read your replies on my iPad )

Deleting mails not possible in mail on my Mac book. I could not delete mails on my MacBook, or not send mails. So mail wouldn't work at all. On my iPhone no problem. After reinstalling Monterey the problem wasn't solved. But when you go to mail, preferences, accounts, and then server then you can choose another smtp server. Send a testmail and than you re-install the cloud server. And all was updated and mail works how it should. So for me the problem was solved.
