My computer can not open a .mov file I sent from my phone.

I recently recorded an interview that is in two parts, one 41 minutes and one 35 minute clips. When I port them to my computer via either Dropbox or google drive and download them the computer simply says “quick play cannot play this file” the file is a .mov and I have tried sharing it with other freinds who have macs and PCs and they also cannot open the file. Any ideas?

Although a "QT movie" video file with ".MOV" was recorded on an iPhone, my Macbook Air gives the following message: "QuickTime Player can't open "IMG_9358~video.MOV"." How can I fix the problem? How can I fix the problem?
