Question: Macbook Pro Audio

I want to read a book and save the audio to a flash drive or sd card to send to grandchildren along with the book.

How do I record my voice and transfer to a flash drive or sd card?

Thank you.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Yes you can. In fact you can use File > New Audio Recording in QuickTime which should be on your Mac already. Third party apps might you give you more control over the export format. Once you record a file you are happy with you can copy and paste it onto a suitable drive or transfer using something like Dropbox.
