Can I drag/drop multiple photos in same album on iPad

I am trying to drag/drop multiple photos within the same album (just rearranging order) at once to save time. It will pick up multiples, but when I try to drop, they disappear from my drag and go back to original spots. Is it true on an iPad I can only rearrange ONE photo at a time?
