Clicking iPhone 4S screen

My 8GB iPhone 4S (iOS 9.3.5 but this is hardware issue) has this weird issue where the screen clicks with pressure. It goes on a cycle through different parts of the front panel. Sometimes it just feels loose. The phone is in near mint condition. I took it out of the case and put it on a hard flat surface and it didn't look bent at all. It has gotten very hot before. Maybe the adhesive is wearing off? I can't take it to a Genius Bar and I won't take the phone apart. Is there anything I can do? At all? This is super annoying because it happens around the home button when I press it too. I've seen people with the iPhone 6 have this issue and some who have 5-5S phones, but never the 4S.
