How do I change a comma to a decimal in Calculator?

Version 10.13.3. Calculator 10.13

How do I change the comma to a decimal? The solution from 2014 doesn't work. System Preferences doesn't have "International" - only "Language and Region." I had "United States (Custom)", which I changed to "United States." This did nothing. "Advanced" makes no sense to me. Groupings has a comma. Numbers (4.3.1) Preferences doesn't seem to have anything related to the decimal.

Hi Alice,

Numbers is not Calculator, and vice-versa. Preferences set in Numbers preferences have no bearing on what is displayed in Calculator.

Calculator (10.3 in El Capitan) has no Preferences item in the Application menu. It adopts relevant preferences set in System Preferences.

The 'Number separators' 'grouping' and 'decimal' preferences are set in System Preferences > Language and Region > Advanced… General

User uploaded file

…using the menu to the right of the box showing the current settings.

If Calculator is open when you make the settings, you may need to Quit and re-launch Calculator for the new settings to take effect.

Regards,

Barry

Actually, it does, here:

Just change to a region there that uses the number formatting that you want. No need to go to System Preferences.

Grouping means these commas: 1,000,000,000

Decimal means this decimal: 1.23

You can choose different characters for regular numbers and for currency.

I have no idea if it affects the Calculator app. I don't like mucking around with settings unless I have to.
