An error occurred while partitioning the disk

Hi there. I am receiving the error "An error occurred while partitioning the disk" while trying to install Win10 (downloaded from the Microsoft website) via bootcamp.

I had this exact problem before, however eventually while troubleshooting a hundred times it just "worked" (nothing specific I did seemed to have caused this as I ran through the troubleshooting steps I was given in the thread I made that time, and after doing it a hundred times it worked.. ha)

I deleted my BC partition because I needed to make it larger and reinstall Windows, and once again I have been given this error while it attempts to partition.

I have run disc utility (all good), gone through Single User Mode and went through /sbin/fsck -fy ... all that.

This is my initial thread, the last time this exact problem happened: "An error occurred while partitioning the disk. Please run Disk Utility to check and fix the error."

I've been at this for days again to no avail.

Please backup macOS to Time Machine to capture the latest state, boot into Internet Recovery, erase the whole disk (not just the container), restore your TM backup, and re-run BCA and try to install Windows.

Can you use a command similar to the following for each of the entries you found, and delete them?

sudo tmutil deletelocalsnapshots 2018-03-15-151415

This example uses your first line output.

Can you retry the BC Assistant and check if it allows you to partition the disk and install Windows?

Do you have a Time Machine backup? If not, can you create one now?

As a test, try to create a FAT partition manually using Disk Utility and post any error messages you see.

Click on Partition. We do not need another volume in the existing container, but a separate FAT partition? You can also check the 'Always Partition' checkbox, if you so choose.
