I just updated to 10.4 and I can make it do the balance color, but in the inspector area its other controls are missing: like Method, the eyedropper tool, etc.
When I UNcheck it, it just says "No Color Sampled" but there's no way FOR me to sample...

UPDATE: Closed FCPX, reopened and trashed the preferences, bingo. Fixed!
