Recording with built in microphone while headphones with a microphone are lllplugged in to iPhone 8 Plus

I just got the iPhone 8 Plus, and now when I plug in the new lightning adapter headphones, the microphone input switches to the headphones microphone instead of the built in iPhone mic. The headphone mic is terrible in quality and input volume compared to the built in mic. However, I need to use headphones so the built in mic won’t pick up sound from other track’s playback while I’m recording. I’ve searched everywhere and cannot find a solution. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do?
