contacts disappeared on my macbook with10.13.3 update

Has anyone else experienced complete loss of contacts after the update pushed out this week?

I have zero contacts after I allowed the update. I don't use iCloud, so now I need to recover the contacts, or completely reconstruct my address book.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 10.3.3
