Question:

Question: Logic Pro X 10.4.1 scaling patterns zoom issue!

Hi

Anyone encountered this:

I played a part into a bar which recorded the MIDI notes and quantized. I then copied the pattern (CMD+R) and modified a note/added another to make the patterns slightly different for a variation. See Pic1 and Pic2. These are the only differences in the pair of RED patterns which then repeat in the track.

Problem:

When I look at the patterns (again as observed in Pic1 and 2) they look very different to each other and this is confusing at a glance! At this scale there shouldn't be the disparity as above.

However, When I zoom right in they now scale better and more accurate!

Toggling the scaling/zooming in/out slider doesn't make it okay as if forcing it to realise the the issue and adjust, it just stays in a loop of looking wrong when small, and correct when almost fully zoomed. See Pic3

Correct when zoomed right in?!

Answer:
Answer:

It's totally normal.

The algorithm starts adding more space when the notes are >= an octave apart.

There's nothing to worry about.

(In previous versions of logic we had actual notes with staves 😁 )

Thanks Cuauhtemoc

Your answer does seem to follow the 'logic' of what's happening! Although I wish it wouldn't do it all the time for the sake of a semitone or two between two adjacent almost-identical patterns!

Cheers
