Can't "accept" Facetime calls on Macbook Pro running "High Sierra" v10.13.3

From some reason, I can make Facetime calls from my Macbook pro (High Sierra) but I cannot accept calls. I receive the notification that I am called on Facetime, but then I can't click on "accept" to receive the call. This has gone on for a few months and it's a bit ridiculous that has not been a fix for this.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Facetime won't work on my mac when I call out on facetime, it doesn't ring on the other end and I can't receive calls on facetime on my mac
