Question: Why does my GarageBand for my 6S 2.3.2 feel like it’s missing features?

I’ve been looking for features in the manual like automated volume control and stuff like that in the header area and I don’t see it, is this version old or missing any features? Cause following the manual doesn’t seem to be working right
