Midi implementation from iPad to mainstage

I am running mainstage 3 using all extenal instrument channels usb into a Roland Integra

7. I would like to use midi designer pro 2 to make buttons with my patch names on it so I can change patches from the ipad. Mainstage is working perfectly with the integra and all midi is mapped correctly on that side of things. What kind of midi message do I use to send a patch change from MD pro2 on iPad to change to a particular patch on mainstage? I have listed all the options. Obviously it’s not start/stop or pitch bend but I’m not so sure about programs or bank changes. The message type options are:

Control change

Note on/off

NRPN 0-127

NPRN 0- 16k

Bank/program change

Program change

Ch after touch

After touch

Start/stop

Continue

song pointer position

Song select

Global preset

Thank you

OS 10.13.3

Mainstage 3.3.2

Roland Integra- 7 1.21

I finally got it. The patch changes can be set up in the attributes window for each patch. I set them up to change with a program change message from midi design pro 2 on iPad.

You don't need to create any buttons for each program change.

Set up a button on your iPad to send a program change message of 0. This will correspond to the first Patch by default. Set up another to PC 1 and a third to PC 2. Now you should be able to switch between your 3 first patches.

i have made it work by creating buttons for every patch in the layout page. I have over 100 patches that send external midi. Mainstage seems to get really slow after about 30 patches and almost unusable at 100. All my splits and configuring are done in my sound module so it must be the amount of mapped buttons slowing it down.

Is there anything I can do to map a button on my iPad to just select a patch in my list without mapping it to a button?
