Thank you! I forgot about it! I had a magnet sub battery attached to my mobile! It works after I detached the sub battery!

if there is a magnet close by that mess with the compass some cases has magnets in them
I noticed that my phone case has a magnet to hold phone cover in place- on removing it from the cover the compass was working
