Is anyone have GPS issues with iOS 11.2.6 or iPhone 6s?
I have been in touch with Apple Support twice now, and my GPS is still not acquiring a location for use by any apps. I notice the problem using Google Maps and Waze when it would not keep up with my location as I drove. It appears that it was attempting to get my location using either WiFi or cellular triangulation while it simultaneously worked to lock on a GPS signal. After 20+min driving with a map application in use, it would sometimes finally receive a GPS signal, but most times it would not.
I have an iPhone 6S 64GB running iOS 11.2.6. This issue started about 1.5 weeks ago, and I did not take note if that coincided with an OS upgrade or not.
Here are all of the troubleshooting steps that have been tried per Support. None of which have worked.
1. Reinstall all 3rd party apps using location
2. Confirm via diagnostics that the GPS hardware is functioning
3. Turn off / on Location Services
4. Reset Network Settings
5. Reset Location Settings
6. Reset All Settings
7. Fully restore iphone by Erasing all Content and Settings
8. Remove and reinstall SIM card
The result is that I have an iphone that basically cannot acquire a GPS signal in any app. Whether the Map app, Google Maps, Waze, Motion X, etc. GPS is non-functioning. It appears to be a software bug as there has been no physical damage or harm to the phone not to mention diagnostics confirmed functioning hardware.
I do not know what else can be tried at this point, and I would appreciate any ideas and wonder if anyone else is experiencing this issue. I have been an iPhone user for basically 10 years, and this issue is the most significant issue I have ever faced with an Apple device. It completely degrades the functionality of the device.
