how do i get my photos? new iphone old sim card

so i broke my old phone and bought a new one, put the new sim card in but still have nothing from my old phone. what i really want is my photos but they arent on icloud. i tried plugging in my old iphone to my computer but since the screen doesnt work at all i cant access the phone on itunes. i thought they would be on the sim card but i guess not? is there no way for me to get my photos now?

Sim cards don't store photos, or pretty much any data outside of contacts. And even then an iPhone will not store any contacts on a sim card.

If you ever backed up the old iPhone to iCloud or iTunes, you can restore that backup to the new iPhone and it should contain your photos.

If you never backed up, the old iPhone and were not using iCloud Photos or Photo Stream, then there's no way to get your photos now.

SIM card has nothing to do with it. If you were using iCloud Photo lIbrary then log into your iCloud account on the phone and turn on iCloud Photo Library.
