How do I set tracks in iTunes to not play?

I do not use shuffle mode, so the usual answer to this is not the correct one for me.

I have some albums that contain tracks I don't usually want to hear, but I'd like to keep them in my iTunes library just in case.

Is it possible to "uncheck" them so that I can just sync an entire genre or artist without having to make a playlist & delete them from that?

iTunes > Preferences > General tab > Show: List view checkboxes.

Anything not ticked will be skipped over during normal track to track and shuffle play, and will usually be excluded from syncing to any device. Check the options on the device's summary tab to make sure.

Thanks for the reply.

In fact, the only tick box I could find was the "Skip When Shuffling" box in the info palette, which was obviously not the one you were talking about.

I know there used to be tick boxes next to every song, so I did a bit more digging & found that it's an option in the prefs that was switched off.

So, I have my tick boxes back & all is right with the world. 🙂
