songs i've deleted from my iphone 12 in apple music, keep re-downloading.

Trying out apple music, & it's not making things easy for me in wanting to keep subscribed to it. I've gone through albums/artists i don't want in my music anymore, & after i go to "delete from library" they redownload again. Now i'm noticing certain artists in apple music, that's not listed in itunes, that keeps coming back. Any suggestions on what else i can do? Shouldn't be this **** hard to simply try to clean up a music list without the deleted songs coming back automatically.
