Is my iPhone hacked please help!

So I was on twitter on my iPhone 7 Plus and came across this link. Judging by the look of the account it was posting links to adult sites but in a different language. As I was scrolling through Twitter I pressed the link by accident and instantly pressed done before it fully loaded.

I know links like this can be dang erous as they have caused viruses to many devices. With that in mind I reset my whole iPhone but backed up with iCloud from a few days prior of the day I clicked the link. I have also changed by Apple ID password multiple times as well as my social media. I have read some articles about getting hacked on an iPhone device. Many have said it’s not possible to be remotely hacked because of the strong security. 1 piece of advice they gave is to look at task manager. Every night I clear my task manager because someone said if apps open that you haven’t opened it means you’re hacked. I woke up and found my message and my mail apps on task manager.

So now I’m wondering is it actually possible for malwareor spyware to have been installed into my iPhone because of that link. Is there a possibility of my personal info gettin out there. I would really appreciate the help. Cheers

If your phone is fully patched (has all the current updates) there shouldn't be a problem.
The only way you can be "hacked remotely" via a website (without downloading or installing anything) is for the attacker to have some fancy exploit for your browser. As far as I know there isn't a current exploit for Safari available, and the changes for someone using an 0day on malvertising websites is quite low.

Anyways, you still should empty your cache and offline website data, as well as cookies (in case you got yourself a tracking cookie on this site)

PS: If you already reset your phone, you're all good.

It is not possible for malware or spyware to be installed on your phone if it is at the current version, 11.2.6, and you have not hacked or jailbroken your phone. Even if it is not fully up to date the probability of it being hacked is pretty close to zero.

The one thing to watch out for is a website that wants to install something (a profile) on your phone. You would be prompted by iOS to approve installing it, so it can't happen without your knowledge. If you have any doubts at all go to Settings/General and scroll to the bottom. Look in the space between VPN and Regulatory. If there is nothing there then nothing risky has been installed on your phone (It would be called Device Management or Profiles).

No, your OK. No harm was done. iOS is the world's most secure platform.

Thank you for the help! So I’ve reset my phone, cleared my cache and offline data so I look all good. I just have 1 thing to ask.

When I restarted my phone my pictures were all deleted, however I did have them backed up. It’s been a couple days past and the pictures all of a suddenly reappeared. Is that something normal to happen? does it usually take that time for all of the photos to comeback to the device?

Thank you for the help! I checked between the VPN and the regulatory and there was nothing there so it looks all good. I just have 1 more thing to ask.

Thank you so much! I promise this is the last thing I’m wondering.

So I decided to clear through all of my emails that I didn’t need including the ones that were sent. Today I noticed emails that apparently I’ve sent to myself. BUT THEYRE MY NOTES FROM MY PAST IPHONES. I have 2 that’s from my iPhone 4 and 3 that are from my iPhone 6. The dates on the emails are realistically when I would’ve wrote them notes. I’m just wondering why have they only just appeared now? And why would they appear in my iCloud mail?

I haven’t got my iPhone 4 anymore to check the notes but I looked through my iPhone 6 and saw that the notes that were sent had actually been deleted. It’s only a select few which is weird but I’m just more surprised why have they only just come up when I’ve looked through my sent folder so many times and haven’t seen them once...
