Is PWNED DFU the same as DFU?

I am curious what PWNED DFU mode is, I know what DFU mode is, and it is device firmware update. You go into DFU mode by pressing the home and power buttons for 10 seconds, and when the screen is dark, and iTunes recognises it, it is DFU. Recovery Mode is when it shows the iTunes and the lightning/30 pin connector on your iPhone, and in some cases before iOS 5, it is the activation screen if there is like a "slide to emergency" on the phone. What is PWNED DFU and is it similar to DFU, or are there some differences?

Recovery mode is having the iTunes logo on your phone and a lightning connector telling you that it should restore, and DFU mode is the phone connected to iTunes, and even if you press the home button, nothing happens. They are both the same process.

Putting your phone into Recovery Mode, and putting the phone into DFU mode are two separate operations. Apple does not mention, nor do they recommend DFU mode. You can put your phone into Recovery Mode while connected to the computer and iTunes, and connecting can verify that it is in Recovery Mode. Not the same process.

The difference between DFU and Pwned DFU mode is that one is a safe way to upgrade your device firmware (that would be DFU mode), and the other you can only do after you have jailbroken your device. Of course, that is why you have been advised several times to not do it:

No where in that support document does it mention DFU. It mentions Recovery Mode. Two different things.

Ok, I knew what it is, but just curious if they are the same. PWNED DFU could void warranty, while DFU is mentioned in Apple’s website.
