Open and unzip a .SEC file

MacPro running OS 10.11.6 with 20GB RAM and lots of storage.

I have downloaded a firmware update file from the Panasonic website (http://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/TC-P65VT60.html). which is SDDL.SEC. I need to unzip and extract a firmware file. I have tried the recommended File Viewer v. 1.4 but I get nothing recognizable from that program with I try to open it.

Does anyone know of a way to open this file so I can extract the firmware file contained within?

Nope. That doesn't work, either. The forums send you back to this topic instead of where it says. You'll have to copy/paste the line into a new tab.

Edit: And even that the forum somehow screws up. You'll have to go to the PDF from within Panasonic's page.

The TC-P65VT60 Firmware Update from that site downloads as zt60_vt60_wt60_dt60_v2885_firmware.zip, which unzips as SDDL.SEC. The Download and install instructions say to just copy that file onto a blank formatted SD card. While doesn’t explicitly say so there, I would assume FAT32/exFAT formatted, rather than HFS+.

The file you download is:

zt60_vt60_wt60_dt60_v2885_firmware.zip

From that, you get the extracted file SDDL.SEC, which is the firmware update file. There's nothing more to extract. From there, follow Panasonic's instructions on how to use and install it.
