my iPhone 4s can't get ios9

I understand my iPhone 4s should be able to run iOS9, but I can't successful get anything when I try to update. I get the little whirly wait image, then after 20 min or so, it tells me there's been a problem and it can't get anything. Anyone have ideas why, or what I can do?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.3

Try updating using iTunes from your computer instead of over the air.

Thanks, KiltedTim. It worked. I'm not very tech-savvy, so although it seemed fairly obvious once you said it, I probably wouldn't have thought of it without you....
