Mouse invisible to Bluetooth

My MacBook sees my mouse vial the USB cable but cannot find it as a Bluetooth device. Now what?

My generic bluetooth mouse doesn't show up in my Macbook Air High Sierra My generic mouse can be paired to two devices at once and I have done Bluetooth debug, reset, etc but it remains undiscovered. It works when connecting to Android and Windows and it is supposed to work with Mac. I can use it when pairing using the USB but not in Bluetooth mode. I have tried searching for it after pairing it through the 2.4 Ghz USB but it is still invisible. Is my Mac too old or what? Please help, all you geniuses out there!!! Thanks!

Open System Preferences > Bluetooth.

The Bluetooth pane should discover your mouse automatically so that you can pair it.

Yes, it should discover it. But it doesn't.

Is there any additional options I can try?
