How to delete pre-installed applications

I've had my MacBook Air for nearly two years, and I have been trying to find out how to delete the pre-installed applications such as Photobooth, iBooks, and Maps since I recieved my laptop. Is there any way that I can delete them without doing damage to my laptop? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
