High Sierra Time machine / time capsule backup fails requiring new backup
Since upgrading my mid-2013 MacBook Air to High Sierra, I have had continual problems with Time Machine backing up to my Time Capsule. I have wiped the Time Capsule disk multiple times and started over the back up several times. Shortly after the first backup completes, I get the error message saying the backup has failed verification and a new backup needs to created. The MacBook Air has a 512GB SSD.
The most weird symptiom is that if I keep the MacBook Air on a hardwired ethernet connection to the Time Capsule the backup keeps running fine but if I remove the ethernet connection and switch back to wireless the backups fail with the verification message within a day. Note: I am typically running the “first backup” with the hardwire each time I have started over and have tried once doing the first backup over wireless and had same result.
To rule out the Time Capsule, I have another older MacBook Air with a smaller 128GB SSD running error-free to same Time Capsule and I am able to run a full Super Duper clone to same TC without issue.
I suspect a High Sierra issue, so hoping someone can share any resolution if you have had similar issues.
MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
