Video playback stalls on CNN site

When I play back a video on CNN, the video will stutter and stall. It seems to happen in the last half of the video. If I leave it alone, it will begin again after 10-20 seconds, but will often stall again before the end. It's been going on for a few weeks. This doesn't happen on YouTube.

I have Safari 11.0.3 and MacOS 10.13.3, and use a MacBook Pro. Flash cookies were deleted, and the plugin was reinstalled. Ran First Aid , but nothing was amiss.

YouTube playback on Safari When I start playing a YouTube video on safari, it plays for a second or two (but the page isn’t fully loaded). Then the video goes black for two or 3 seconds(with the audio still playing fine). Then the video comes back with a bit of lag and proceeds to carry on like fine and doesn’t happen again for the rest of the video. It happens every time so it isn’t random, and I have no browser extensions being used. I’ve tried on chrome and I have no issues there. I’m on a 2018 MacBook Pro and have fibre optic broadband so there’s no issue with device power or internet speed. Really odd

Safari video glitches Safari seems to have problems with video playback. When I play two Youtube videos simultaneously the second one fast forwards to the end. https://youtu.be/6azGny_st8s There are also other glitches that I couldn't capture, because they happen randomly, where the video flashes green or has other artefacts flashing. Doesn't happen in Chrome, Firefox or while playing videos with QuickTime.

safari working slow hello, so whenever I am watching Netflix on safari, the video pauses and the sound of my show slow down. the sounds does not match unless i go back or forward it. can someone please help me. thank you
