Hello, I have taken the step of buying the Pro X version, and now am not able to import my old FCE HD projects, because my iMac is running on High Sierra 10.13.3.
Any help much appreciated, I have not done much research on the web yet.

You can use the media files with FCP X, no problem, but you can’t import the FCE projects to FCP X.
There *might* be a very circuitous route if you get temporary access to a copy of FCP 7, open each FCE project, export as XML, then use a third party program CCtoX to convert said XML to a FCP X compatible version, then import.
Thanks, I will try that. I have my old Powermac which still has the FCE HD installed and working. Is there a way to export FCE projects to a newer FCP format to read the media files and Sequences?

Thanks. I was thinking that on my old Powermac I could use FC Express to open the projects and then somehow export them to a format that my FCP X installed on my newer iMac will be able to read, but it seems I will need the interim xml step.
You don't need to export to go to FCP7. It can open the FCE project file.
