How do I delete Twitter Widget in Safari?

In the last two days every time I try to open a web page in Safari it launches a blank web page labeled "Twitter Widget Log Helper". This is driving me nuts. How do I get rid of this? I've checked that I am not logged into Twitter; checked that there is no Preferences>Internet Connections>Twitter; deleted cookies and anything Twitter related in the Safari cache and history; checked that I do not have a Twitter widget; searched my entire laptop for Twitter; nothing. Yet still it persists. Any help on how I can permanently nuke this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
