as I do not possess any electronic payment card (debit nor credit) I would like to know if I can use iTunes Gift Card credits to buy an upgrade for my iCloud Storage plan.

Hi,
I did some searching myself after posting this (not a bad idea to search before posting :-) ) and I found this answer:
iTunes gift card for iCloud storage
After you have redeemed your iTunes Gift Card or in case you still have credits, upgrading to a higher storage plan is quite simple in the iPhone:
- go to Settings -> Your Name -> iCloud -> Manage Storage -> Change Storage
- tap the plan you want
- tap 'Buy' in the upper right corner
- Sign in with your iCloud account (has to be the same account you redeemed the iTunes Gift Card(s) with)
- you're done...
