Can iBooks be made readible on non-apple devices?

Hi,

Can books created from iBook Author be downloaded and readable on non-apple devices? How can we publish in this manner?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

The .ibooks format cannot be read on non-Apple devices, only the .epub format. iBooks Author has templates for both formats, and Pages can export to .epub.

If you already have a book in .ibooks format, you would have to recreate it using an .epub template.
