sign in iTunes does not work

I have tried a few times, but my iTunes does not work with my username and password. I have logged in with te combination in other programs or pages, but in iTunes it does not work. What am i doing wrong?

What version of iTunes on what version of OS X/macOS? Is two factory authentication set up? You sign into iTunes with an Apple ID, an email address and password rather than a username. Are you using the correct details?
