In order to open up space on my internal HD, I transferred my Downloaded files to an external drive.....the files transferred but they are greyed out and will not open>>>>>>
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
Thanks for the response.....I also have 'microsoft office' on my mac. when I went to 'get info' I noticed that in the section which has 'open with' it has 'microsoft powerpoint [default]....this does'nt seem right. it also has the options:
Keynote (6.6.2)
Keynote (5.3)
Preview
Then below those options its has:
App store
Other......
Try doing a Get Info (command - I) on the drive and see if you can give yourself read/write permissions. Also check for an Ignore Ownership option.
You are welcome. Are they Powerpoint files?
