Iphone makes Uber app to log me out as soon as I login? Videos attached

Hello Everyone,

I have been using uber app on my android device and never had a problem. Recently I switched to iphone 6S and installed uber app here but I am having issues while logging in. As soon as I login via my mobile number or email address it logs me out immediately automatically. I have tried logging in from android devices again and it works perfectly but it doesn't work on iphone. Please if anybody can help ? Here is the videos I recorded while repeating the login procedure on iphone ScreenRecording_12-26-2017 23-49-37.mp4 - Google Drive and ScreenRecording_12-26-2017 23-51-33.mp4 - Google Drive

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.2.6, null

And what did Uber say when they replied?

Somehow the Uber server is failing to authenticate your credentials, which would indicate a problem on their side, not on the iPhone.

The only thing I can think of is that the device (iPhone) is still somehow tied in to another Uber account. Hence my earlier question. I have no idea whether Uber uses some kind of authentication method tied to he iPhone hardware. Happens on some apps. The other thing is you are logging in with Google. Maybe there is a problem there. As I said before, I am using Uber on multiple devices, with no issues. But then again, I never use Google or Facebook for third party apps. You know, privacy and all that. Plus if an issue arises, similar to yours, the finger pointing begins.

When you "reset" it what did you do? Please follow this to make sure your phone is totally unlinked from your brother's Apple ID:

I would also erase the phone, if all else fails.

In any case, I would continue to pursue Uber. I think there is a problem on their side, regardless whether or not you can login via Android, as that has not been discounted yet.

Hmmm...I know that Uber uses you phone number the first time you login in order to verify the account. Could it be that, since you are using a number on your Android that is different on the iPhone, it is kicking you out? I know it sends a SMS verification the first time you login in.

Did you try logging in from a desktop? It will send an SMS authentication code to your registered phone.

I did watch them. The only thing I can recommend is to try logging out of Uber on the Android. I have never had a problem with Uber, including on multiple devices at the same time.

There could be a problem with your account, so try contacting Uber.

PS. As a unrelated safety precaution, if I were you, I'd blur out your personal info on the videos, such as your Google ID. You don't want that info floating around in a public forum

Oh sorry about that, Yes we followed the procedure, when I got the iphone it was just like brand new with no data or apple id inside, I had to start it from scratch.

1. I was using uber on android, worked fine, never had an issue.
2. My brother gave me iphone, I installed the uber app on iphone, deleted from android as well.

3. At start in worked fine on iphone except that I was unable to see my rides history.
4. I complained about it with Uber, they said ok we have solved it.

5. Then I try to login in Uber app and this problem occurred (Logging out of app as soon as it logs in).

7. I tried again on android and it works perfectly on android devices.
6. I uninstalled the app on iphone, reinstalled it and tried to login with a different number in Uber app but it failed with same responses.

that is why I think its the issue with iphone and not with the Uber app

The fact that it was working on your iPhone originally, except the ride history (a fact you failed to mention until now), and that when you contacted Uber tech support and they "fixed/tinkered" with your account, and then the problem started, leads me to believe the problem is on Uber's side and not on the iPhone.

IMO, whether or not, you can login via Android, is irrelevant.

Like it or not, my suggestion is to contact Uber again.
