Compatibility of Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive with Mac Air

I just purchased that captioned drive. The box says nothing about Mac compatibility, but I was easily able to format it for Mac using Disc Utility and back up the contents of my Mac Air laptop using Time Machine. My question is, in the long term, will this drive continue to perform reliably or would I be better off returning it and purchasing a drive specifically designed to work with the Mac OS. [Toshiba has one.]
