iOS 11.3 requires iTunes 12.7.3

Without it's impossible to update

Why do I need to update to iTunes 12.7.3 ? I don't like it at all, for many good reasons

and this is why I'm with the 12.6.3 version where I can download every app updates I need

only once without incurring in too much higher internet consumption, that costs.

When you download iMovie or Keynote (not talking about 1.5 GB x 3 4.5 GB Garageband...)

3 times (iPad, 2 iPhones ) you waste 1.8 GB or 1.5 Gb respectively.

Does anyone know an alternative method , beside updating directly from iPhone or iPad?

Thanks

Thanks MichelPM but

This is the problem: I would like to know if it still work after updating to iOS 11.3. I don't want to go through the cumbersome task of restoring everything or to be stuck with that.

And to answer to your question: of course iTunes sees the new update but it doesn't let me go to the next step if I don't update to iTunes 12.7.3

Like you I prefer iTunes 12.6 and thought I'd found the answer when I downloaded and updated to iTunes 12.6.4 via the following Apple page Deploy apps in a business environment with iTunes - Apple Support

Unfortunately, it has not solved the issue and I still get the same request to update to iTunes 12.7 before I can have iOS 11.3.

I don't want to go to the hassle of updating my iPhone to 11.3 through the settings only to find I can't then use iTunes 12.6.4 as I have been currently, so like you would love an answer if anyone has one out there.
