I’m on my second Apple TV 4K. The first repeatedly went into Recovery mode on its own (front light blinking) – only when we’re not using it. Apple replaced that one, but now the new one is doing the same thing. Any ideas before I take it back to the Genius bar?
When my new Apple 4K TV was stuck in the Reset or Restart loop and Genius bar AND Apple Teck support said it had to be replaced, and trying BOTH restart or reset failed...ALL I had to do was hold down my remote Menu & Home Screen button at the same time for about 5 or 6 seconds. My Apple 4K TV Box reset INSTANTLY and ALL my data returned!

I work in the service dept of Soundvision in Novato Ca. I have seen many issues like this on many 4th and 5th gen apple tvs. Even my own at home is doing the same thing all of a sudden. I think its software related and apple is not disclosing it.
Update 11.3 just went out from 11.2.6.
Hopefully they are fixing it. I started to recommend Roku to my clients. And I work in Marin and SF for the elite. Bad news for apple.
No, that would be correct and you would need to take it to Apple but have them test it first.
There isn't anything you can do once it's gone into recovery mode. Take it to Apple, but have them test it.
It is working just fine for the majority, this forum alone would be full of reports if such a widespread software issue were to exist. I also have many units and do a lot of testing.
Maybe I’m using the wrong words. It blinks, and gives me the option to restart or reset settings and restart.
