Apps for iOS 4.2.1

I just signed back into Apple ID on my iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1, (I keep all my old phones, newest one a 5S I have), don't know how to update iOS 4 anymore, forgot. I have been wanting to get some apps for it, but can't find any for iOS 4.2.1, and, yes, seriously, I want apps for it. How do I get iOS 4 to say the minimum iOS needed? The install buttons are greyed out, how do I at least get an older version if the message asking you if you want an older version doesn't show?

The problem for an iPhone 4 is that it cannot be updated beyond iOS 7 and even at that you won't be able to download and use the lastest apps that require iOS 11 or later.

Sorry, but you need a new iPhone.

I would be very surprised if you find any for an iOS that old. It is hard finding any for iOS 9.3.5, and certainly not popular ones. You can try upgrading iOS but with a device that old you probably still won't find many.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - https://support.apple.com/HT204204 - Updating will only offer the highest available iOS version supported by the device. If it says no update is available and you need a higher version you will have to buy newer equipment.
