Good morning PM_Faiz,

It sounds like you’re having trouble with the Voice Memos app not picking up your voice when trying to record. I’ll be happy to help out with this.

Here’s some great steps that resolve many issues related to the microphone on your iPhone: Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Specifically, check out these steps here:

If you still have issues after testing the microphone on your device, try these steps:

  1. Unplug any accessory plugged into the headset jack.
  2. Avoid blocking the microphone and iSight mic with your fingers while holding the device or recording video.
  3. Remove screen protectors, films, or cases that cover the microphone, iSight mic, or iPhone receiver.
  4. Clear any debris from the microphones or iPhone receiver. Refer to the user guide for your device on microphone locations.
  5. Restart your device.
  6. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.

If you've tried these steps and people still can't hear you on phone or FaceTime calls or Siri doesn’t hear your requests, contact Apple Support.

Take care!

Hey PM_Faiz,

Thanks for the follow-up. Because you’re still having issues with the microphone that records voice memos after going through those steps, the next step would be to make a backup of your iPhone and then restore and set it up as new to determine if the issue you’re having is a software or hardware issue.

First, back up your iPhone: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

After backing up, restore the device and be sure to set it up as new, not from the backup, for testing purposes: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

With the iPhone restored as new, do you still have the same issue with the microphone?
Cheers!
