Question

iphone x charging only when switched off

For two days I can't charge my iphone X. When plugged there is no icon, no signs of charging. The app that checks battery life doesn't recognize if the phone is plugged. It doesn't charge when plugged to iMac either. Only when the battery is empty and the phone is switched of and it stayed all night plugged to charger, you see the next morning that the battery is full. By evening it is empty again. I've recently updated to latest update. Is there somethign i can do? Or reset to factory settings is the only option?

No, the article is not helpful at all. When I plug my iphone i don't see a lightning bolt beside the battery icon in the status bar, or a large battery icon on your lock screen. It doesn't charge. The cable, charger and the slot are al right. I've tried with different cables. It charges only when switched off.

Btw, i've brought it already to the repair center, they were also surprised and asked to take the phone for a check. But it would take long, we have Easter holidays now. So I took phone back in hope i can solve it myself.

I have no idea. It should be plugged of course. But the battery has to be empty as well. Otherwise it won't charge in switched off mode. Very bizarre!
