AirPort Extreme extended network problems

I have the latest gen Airport Extreme with three 2nd gen and one 1st gen Airport Express to extend the network. I have followed all of the standard setup instructions and the network shows to be functioning with Internet access in Airport utility. All of our mobile devices, MacBook Pro computers, and Apple TVs can connect to the network; however, some do not have access to the Internet (in mobile devices such as iPad “No Internet Connection” appears in the WiFi settings). The problem started after Suddenlink installed a new modem (Arris TG2482A). I have tried multiple power cycles wherein I powered down the modem and all Airport network equipment for 30 minutes and then powered it all back on systematically (modem->Airport Extreme->followed by the 4 Airport Express units). All that did was shuffle what devices could access the Internet. I also changed the IPv6 setting to Link Only on all Airports and performed the power cycle again. . . .still no improvement. Running all latest firmware and Mac OS and iOS. Can anyone please help?

Whenever you change providers, or change the modem to which your main AirPort is connected, you need to reset the "main" AirPort back to factory default settings......so that it can pick up the new correct settings that it needs from the new modem.

So, if you have not already done so, the sequence that you should have followed is this:

1) Power off the three 2nd Gen and 1st Gen AirPorts that are extending the network

2) Perform a Hard Reset on the AirPort Extreme that is connected to the modem back to reset it back to factory default settings and then set it up again. Use the same wireless network and password that you used before.

3) When the AirPort Extreme has been set up and is operating correctly, power up the other AirPorts one at a time. Do not attempt to power up the other AirPorts until you have verified that devices can connect to the AirPort Extreme correctly.

Your new "modem" is really a modem/router or gateway, which is both a modem and router, so you are going to find that you now have two wireless networks in your home......one provided by the new gateway and the other provided by the AirPort Extreme.

Choose the AirPort network from your WiFi devices In some cases, two wireless networks in close proximity to each other can create interference effects that will affect wireless performance. In that case, you may likely need to turn off the wireless function on the gateway.
