Replace audio track in iMovie

I'll probably figure this out when I attempt to do it, but figured I'd ask beforehand in case I can get a suggestion that could save me some time and avoid a headache.

I've got music videos to songs I'm going to perform with a band. I need to substitute the original audio track with a new one that has a click track with 8 beat count-in. So I'll need to place the the click track, and push the images back "8 beats" in time. There are also text/titles in the video with the song lyrics.

I want to avoid having to make a mistake that cause me to have to redo all the timing/settings for the images and text. I'm hoping it's a matter of being able to push all that stuff back in one fell swoop? Any directions before I try?

Hi,

Before you do anything, make a duplicate of your project and work with the duplicate. That way if things get messed up you can always go back to your original project and make another duplicate to work with.

Delete your original audio track. Replace it with the click track. Insert a black background (or photo) at the beginning of the video track and adjust the background's duration to match the duration of the 8 beats in your click track. That will push the video track down the timeline by 8 beats. Everything should stay in sync.
