Staccato only works with midi

Hi,

I really like and want to use the new studio staccato strings in Logic, however I need to be able to manually place the notes in the piano roll. I have the articulation on staccato, but it only plays staccato when I record it from my midi keyboard. With the old strings I was able to work around this issue by changing it from (e.i.) cellos+ to cellos staccato in the ES2 synth itself, but I don't know how to fix this problem with the new studio strings. Any help is greatly appreciated!
