pages could not communicate with helper application

attempting to open blank template in pages: failure as per above subject.

appears only since latest update late April`18.

already tried re-starting iPadPro (latest iOS)

iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi, iOS 11.0.2

As my question noted: restarting did not work.

I was able open an existing document, however.

I then closed multiple open apps, and the problem disappeared—

working hypothesis for the moment: over-stressed memory…

Hello lwb52,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to open a new blank template in the Pages app on your iPad Pro, even after restarting your iPad Pro. To help with this issue, please try force closing the Pages app and test your issue again. If you're still having this issue, please remove the Pages app and reinstall from the App Store app again and test your issue.

Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 11 device or Apple Watch - Apple Support
