Photo's creating RED screen when clicking on thumbnail

I recently upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.4 on my Mac Pro, with an AMD Radeon HD 7950 card and an original Nvidia GT 120 card, Samsung SSD. When I opened the Photo app after the upgrade it started updating itself. Now, when I click on a thumbnail, the photo opens to the larger size but what should be the enlarged photo is now just a large RED square. I can copy an image from the Photo app to my Desktop and open with preview just fine and zoom etc, but cannot open anything other than thumbnails in Photo App. Everything was working fine on High Sierra prior to this 10.13.4 update.

If I rotate the thumbnail it also turns red, if I rotate it back it is ok.

You can select as many thumbnails as you want and rotate them then rotate them back to bulk fix thumbnail issues

Your other issue sounds like it may be a bug - you may want to report it to Apple - Product Feedback - Apple

Larry,

It is not the thumbnails that is the issue. Thumbnails are fine when I click on a thumbnail to get a larger view the picture that opens up, is all RED. When I did what you said about rotating a thumbnail and not actually opening the image, the thumbnail rotates and then after 3-4 seconds the thumbnail also turns red. If I rotate the thumbnail back to original position, it is ok. Definitely sounds like a bug in the software as only occurred after last update.

If I export the photo as unmodified original and view in preview it is fine.

What is also interesting is I have dual monitors with the two cards mentioned above. If I turn off the monitor on the AMD Radeon HD 7950 card which is creating the RED issue and open Photo app using the monitor with the GT120 card, I get an upside down purple image of the photo when clicking on the thumbnail. Any subsequent thumbnail I try to open gives me the same upside down purple image of that original thumbnail I clicked on.

UPDATE: No longer purple image just a garbled mess on the GT120 card

What happens if in thumbnail view you rotate the photo and then rotate it back?

If you export (file menu ==> export) the unmodified original and view it in preview is it OK
