Keyboard is recognized as control surface

Hi All,

I am facing quite a weird problem - Logic X (latest version) recognizes my keyboard, Roland RD-300 NX as a control surface, and as a result mistakenly sends a lot of midi signals there. I am not only using it as a midi controller, but also as a sound generator. So, often it starts playing its sounds for no reason, when I change track headers, on start / stop, etc. etc. It's CRAZY!

However, If I select Logic X / Control Surfaces / Bypass Control Surfaces the madness stops and everything is back to normal. Unfortunately Logic switches this setting back to "off" every time I restart it or open another project. In Control Surface settings I deleted everything I possibly could, and I don't have any actual control surface.

Please help understand what's going on.

Thanks!

Mike

Try deleting the controls surface preference file.

To delete the Control Surface preferences, do the following:

  1. Quit Logic Pro X.
  2. In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder.
  3. Enter ~/Library/Preferences, then click Go.
  4. Remove the "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" file from the Preferences folder.
  5. Restart your Mac.

The file will be rebuilt to Default specs next time Logic is started
