Album covers not showing 2018 ipad ios 11.3

hi,

just got my new ipad, signed in, got my whole iTunes collectiom downloaded.

However about half of all albums have their artwork missing. Had a look at iTunes Store and some songs were missing - now finally downloaded every single one. Still about half of all album covers are missing.

Never happend on any of my macs or previous ipad. Can not see any option anywhere how this can be fixed.

iPad Wi-Fi, iOS 11.3

Hello Malpais,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that some album artwork is missing after setting up your new iPad. I would be happy to help. If you used iCloud Music Library to sync the songs to your iPad, the following resource has some helpful troubleshooting steps related to your issue:

Get help with iCloud Music Library - Apple Support

Specifically, use the steps in this section:

If the artwork for some of your albums or songs is missing

  1. On your Mac or PC, open iTunes.
  2. In the upper-left corner, click User uploaded file Music.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Albums.
  4. Find the album with the missing artwork, then right-click or Control-click it.
  5. Click Get Album Artwork. To select more than one album, hold down the Command key on your keyboard and click additional albums.
  6. iTunes adds the album artwork.
  7. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose File > Library > Update iCloud Music Library.
  8. After iCloud Music Library has finished updating, open the Music app on your iOS device.
  9. Find the songs that are missing artwork, and remove the downloads from your device.
  10. Tap the download icon User uploaded file to the right of the song to download the song again from iCloud Music Library.

If you do not use iCloud Music Library and the album artwork appears in iTunes on your Mac, try syncing your music from iTunes to the iPad again:
