Reoccurring iPhone screen not responding

A couple of weeks ago my iPhone 6 Plus screen began to become unresponsive. I bring it back by restarting the iPhone, but now it occurs very frequently. The issue is not the screen protector nor screen cleanliness.

Are there any suggestions on how to keep this problem from reoccurring?
