Audio stops on airpods

Hi there, is anyone else having issues where the airpods no longer transmits audio. For example, I'm listening to a podcast & the audio frequently just drops, the podcast is still playing just goes silent. The airpods still appear connect and the app needs to be restarted to get audio again. Really annoying, it might be more that just the airpods however that's where I notice it. This never happened prior to the most recent update to 11.3, never happened before.

Ok, so just had it happen again with no other apps open outside of the Music app...

Seemed to occur a few moments after I put my phone down after looking at it. Perhaps it has to do with some program that gets triggered when the screen shuts off automatically?

With how frequently this is occurring now it's starting to get highly annoying.

Same here. Switching output rod evict and back to Airpods is a workaround as well but still anno

I have this issue and run Beta on my iPhone. This also happens when connected to my Mac, so I don't believe it is really iOS.

I am also experiencing the exact same issues others are mentioning. Looking forward to Apple acknowledging it is a known issue and hopefully a fix soon.

Underwater/chipmunk on calls.

Audio stops in AirPods when phone locks, but keeps playing on app.

Makes AirPods useless.

I have an iPhone 7+, running ios 11.4

Bluetooth connections on phone:

Apple Watch 3 with cellular connection.

Airpods

Toyota 4runner.

I am experiencing this problem since upgrading to iOS 11.4.

I have this exact problem on my iPhone 7. I've forgotten and repaired them several times. I don't notice and patterns as to when the issue occurs. Seems pretty random. So frustrating.
